Joel Goldman
  Artist

Biography
Joel Goldman has a non-traditional artistic arc.  After a successful career in research and executive management in the telecommunications industry, Joel started a second career in art at middle age.  He found he had a natural ability and passion for oil painting, and so he began on an artistic journey.  First he copied the works of master painters of the 19th century, and then pursued formal art instruction with many local New Jersey artists.  His principal mentors were the late S. Allyn Schaeffer for landscape painting, and Enrique Flores-Galbis for portraiture.  Joel developed his bold, impressionistic style using high-key color and expressive brushwork to build up the artistic illusion of space.  His paintings have been exhibited at juried shows at the New Jersey Center for Visual Arts, the Annual Gaelen Art Show, the Millburn Short Hills Art Center, the Somerset Art Association, and at numerous other venues. Joel's oeuvre focuses on landscapes, especially those with bodies of water.
